Dunbrody Abbey & Hedge Maze
Campile
Dunbrody Abbey was founded for the Cistercian Order by Herve de Montmorency in the years following the Norman invasion of Ireland circa 1170. Dunbrody Castle was built in 1641 as a home for the Etchingham family but it was never fully completed and never lived in. Within the Abbey Visitor’s Centre is Dunbrody Castle which houses a craft shop, a museum and a large dolls’ house built to a scale of the castle. Families will enjoy the full-size maze containing 1500 Yew trees, plus a Pitch and Putt course.
