The Hook Sub-Aqua Club is based on the Hook Peninsula, 20 miles south of New Ross. The club has 50 members. The club dive boats are 6.5m and 7.5m Tornado RIBs and has a 200sq.m dive centre, which has been in operation since 1999. The club is based at Slade Harbour. Facilities include; compressor with bottle bank, NITROX, changing and showers, equipment washing, catering facilities, car parking, equipment storage, local dive site information, oxygen and first aid, Marine VHF base and a Helipad. The Marine Rescue Helicopter is based at Waterford, 10 miles away. Slade Harbour (dry at low water) is used for launching boats and shore diving is available on both the east and west sides of the peninsula, which allows diving in most weather. Diving enthusiasts will love the Hook area for its exceptionally clear waters (up to 35-40 feet) and the diversity of ship wrecks. Compressor and diving packages available.
