Terms & Conditions

  1. All photographs must have been taken on the Hook Peninsula, or of the Hook Peninsula or of waters surrounding the Hook Peninsula (including Bannow Bay) as indicated by the new peninsula map.
  2. All photographs must have been taken between 1st August 2018 and 31stJanuary 2020.
  3. All applicants who are under the age of 18 Years must have a Parent/ Guardian to support their submission and  agree to all the Terms & Conditions outlined.
  4. All pictures should be submitted as JPEG files (.jpg) or Tiff files (.tiff). You must include a caption to explain your picture.
  5. Only one photo entry per person per category and the closing date for electronic entries is 31st January 2020. Eight entries from each category will be announced shortly after the closing date and if chosen, you agree to supply to Hook Rural Tourism Ltd at your own expense, a printed (8” x 12”) A4 size photograph.
  6. Entrants to the competition confirm that the photograph they are submitting has been taken by the entrant, that it is their own, and that as owner they are fully entitled to use it for the purpose of the ‘Hook Peninsula Photography Competition’.
  7. Where the photo submitted to the Competition contains any person or persons (where identifiable) the Entrant warrants that those persons have given their permission for the photograph to be used in the Competition.
  8. Entrants shall be liable to Hook Tourism for any loss or damage caused by misrepresenting their entitlement to submit a photograph for entry in the Competition.
  9. By submitting a photograph for entry to the Competition entrants grant to Hook Rural Tourism Ltd a full, irrevocable license to use the photograph at any time and in any format for the purposes of running the Competition, promoting the Competition, and in use for work as a community organisation promoting the Hook Peninsula as a premier visitor destination or otherwise.
  10. You agree to grant license to Hook Rural Tourism Ltd to use the photograph you provide, on our website and social media accounts and without limitation. The photographs may be used to promote the photography competition, exhibition and to promote the Hook Peninsula to potential visitors.
  11. No excessively digitally altered images will be accepted (no cloning, adding or removing elements). Basic enhancements are allowed, for example brightness, contrast, and sharpening etc.
  12. You warrant to us that all contributions are lawful and do not infringe any rights of any third party and that you will indemnify us in respect of any breach of that warranty.
  13. Hook Rural Tourism Ltd accepts no liability for any content submitted by third parties.
  14. The decision of the panel appointed by Hook Rural Tourism Ltd to judge the photographs shall be final.
  15. The competition allows for one entry per person, per category, of which there are 6 categories.
  16. Hook Tourism reserves the right to change the prize and/or prizes without notice. All prizes are subject to availability.
  17. You will not submit a photograph that is offensive, abusive, indecent, defamatory or obscene.
  18. Entrants who provide false or misleading information will automatically be disqualified.
  19. You accept that we may exercise editorial control over the photograph and may decide not to allow publication at our absolute discretion.
  20. Hook Tourism may at its sole discretion disqualify any entrant, at any time or for any reason.
  21. Any personal details collected with the entry form will be used for the sole purpose of running the competition. (ie: contacting the finalists and winners)
